You've got questions, we've got answers:

Q: Can I join this organization?

A: Yes, but only as a volunteer. We are not a membership organization and volunteers are not required to pay fees or dues in order to participate. We are open to everyone, regardless of party affiliation and welcome your participation.

Q: I want to volunteer, but no longer live in Georgia. What can I do?

A: Plenty. We have established a vibrant online community via our multi-level, user friendly website. Signing up is the first step. From there, you can become your own community leader, no matter where you live, and connect with other like-minded folks who are interested in the future of our state.

Q: Are any members of the Board of Directors paid for their services?

A: No. We are all volunteers. Every dollar we raise goes directly toward the work of our volunteers to promote progressive issues in Georgia.

Q: What sort of activities do you participate in?

A: Throughout the year, GfD host many fun social events such as: film screenings, book signings, debates, voter registration drives and much more. On a more serious note, we also organize canvassing, phone banking and educational events throughout the year. In short, three areas garner most of our attention: 1) Voter empowerment, which includes voter registration, voter education and Get-Out-The-Vote activities. 2) Issue Advocacy, which includes action alerts on specific issues. 3) Community Development, which includes organizing at the neighborhood level to reinvigorate citizens to become involved in their local government.

Q: What type of organization is Georgia for Democracy?

A: Georgia for Democracy is a family of organizations that include: Georgia for Democracy, Inc., a nonprofit corporation exempt from tax under Section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code. Georgia for Democracy Action Fund is a 527 organization working to educate voters on the positions, records, views, and qualifications of candidates running for public office in Georgia. Georgia for Democracy PAC is a non-affiliated state PAC, working to elect Georgia candidates who reflect our values.

Q: Is Georgia for Democracy affiliated with Democracy for America?

A: Yes. In addition to other activities, Georgia for Democracy works in concert with Democracy for America to further that organization's goals here in Georgia.

Q: Are you guys Republicans, Democrats, Green Party people or what?

A: All of the above. Georgia for Democracy is a non-partisan organization devoted to empowering voters and promoting progressive issues at the State level. Simply stated, we are unified in the belief that social justice and fiscal responsibility can, and must, co-exist in governance in order for society to move forward.
