Georgia for Democracy was formed in the spring of 2004 by a group of dedicated volunteers from several Democratic Presidential Primary campaigns. After spending years watching from the sidelines or being involved in individual campaigns, this group of new and old activists felt it was time that someone, or group, in Georgia stepped forward to push the agenda on issues like Health Care, real environmental protection and other main issues that were either being ignored by Democrats and Progressives in exchange for "value-driven" legislation or were being touted by candidates only during election season and then taken off the table.

Georgia for Democracy's (GFD) mission is to enable the average voter to realize their collective power in influencing the everyday life of all Georgians and most importantly their own community and family. In order to fulfill that mission, supporters of GFD focus on Voter Registration, Education, Mobilization & Empowerment as well as Issue Advocacy, Progressive campaigns and creating a viable Internet home for all Progressives in our state.

Georgia for Democracy is a progressive oganization that works in and with local communities to unite, educate and activate the citizens of Georgia to positively impact government & public policy, and to uphold the motto of our great state - Liberty, Justice & Moderation.
